Late Goals Help Mustangs Taste Victory in Scrimmage vs TVCC

 On Friday in Price Utah the 2019 Mustangs had their second scrimmage of the season in as many days.  Western Wyoming faced the Chukars of Treasure Valley Community College from Ontario Oregon.  As agreed upon from both teams the scrimmage was broken into three thirty minute periods to allow for more water breaks and time to talk to the team.

Treasure Valley was first on the scoreboard when they netted a goal in the 12th minute of play.  Just ten minutes later the Mustangs tied up the score with a goal from Hayden Rupe, assisted by Cassie Southwick.  At the end of the first thirty minute period the score was tied 1 - 1.

In the second period of play the Mustangs started to wear down the opposition and found more possession and shots.  The break through on the scoreboard came in the 60th minute of play when Karly Conolly scored with the assist coming from Taya Merrell.  After 60 minutes of play the score was WWCC 2 and TVCC 1.

During the final thirty minutes of play the Mustangs add two more goals.  In the 66th minute Karly Conolly notched her second goal of the day with the assist going to Hayden Rupe.  The last goal being scored by Kylee Manning in the 84th minute of play, assisted by Lizzy Clark.  This goal gives Kylee a 3 match/scrimmage scoring streak.  In as keepers for the Mustangs today were Graisy Greener and Karly Conolly.

Mustang Valuable Player: Karly Conolly - played 45 minutes as keeper, making 2 saves and then scored 2 goals in under 45 minutes of play.
