WSOC Spring 2019 Scrimmage Schedule Underway in SLC

On Saturday in Salt Lake City the 2019 WWCC Women's Soccer started their scrimmage season for the spring when they played the University of Utah Club team.

Thirteen of the nineteen players from the Region IX Champion team were available to play during this scrimmage.  The freshmen were; Kylee Manning Elyse Jacobsen, Abbie Riley, Makenzie Millward, Lizzy Clark, Taya Merrell and Markell Freeman.  The sophomores playing for the Mustangs in their last semester were; Lindsey Lemmons, Emma Barnes, MaKayla Barnes, Maylee Thompson, Jaden Auger, Claire Morales and Madeline Kendrick.

The Mustangs came out a little slow and rusty from the long winter but quickly started playing good soccer.  It was just a 70 minute scrimmage, perhaps with more time the Mustangs could have found a goal on the day.  The final score on the day was a draw with U of U - 0 and WWCC - 0.  The keepers on the day were Lindsey Lemmons and Markell Freeman who both earned a spring shutout for their efforts.

Up next this spring is a double header on Saturday March 16th in Orem Utah versus the Madison Dragons (BYU-I) and UVU Club team.
