Lexi Chenoweth a soon to be graduate from Syracuse High and Roy Utah has signed her National Letter of Intent to play collegiate soccer at Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs WY.
Lexi was a three-year letter winner for Syracuse High.
During her high school career the Titans were back-to-back 6A Region Champs in 2017 and 2018. Along with the regular season success the SHS team also had success in the post season being UHSAA 6A runners-up in 2017 and quarter-finalist 2018. With the team accomplishments also came individual awards, Lexi was chosen as Athlete of the Week and
was also voted Team is the Star Award by her coaches in 2018.
Chenoweth played enough for SHS in the playoffs that she earned a spot in the Top 10 Post-season Minutes in a Career for Syracuse
High.
Lexi's love for soccer
began at an early age. When she was five, her 1st grade teacher gave a writing prompt “When I grow up...." Lexi wrote, I want to go to college and play soccer. Her love for the
game has only intensified over the years as she has played in multiple
positions on the field, but her number one choice is playing Striker.
She has always been very active. At the age of 5 she competed in her
first 5K races, Triathlons, Dualathlons, RAGNAR, and has
completed the Ogden Half Marathon 3 times throughout the years.
Beside being an outstanding athlete and soccer player Lexi was on Leadership Council two years in a row and has maintained a 3.7 GPA throughout high school. Chenoweth plans on studying Physical Therapy while at Western Wyoming. Lexi
has volunteered well over 500 hours for Davis School District during at various sponsored community
activities. She was the recipient of the Hope of America award,
Lexi also was voted Student of the Month as well as received a letter of
commendation from Superintendent Bowels for making a valuable
contribution to her Junior High School.
Lexi would like to thank her family, especially her mom who is her
biggest fan, all of her coaches for their guidance and their skills. She would like to especially thank her
current Nitro Coach, Chris Simmons, for his assistance in creating
opportunities for her to continue her journey and dream at playing at
the college level. Chenoweth is also grateful to her friends for their unconditional love and support
throughout her soccer career. She is beyond excited to be a WWCC Mustang!
