In Sheridan Wyoming on Saturday afternoon the Mustangs played a Region IX North match against Sheridan College Lady Generals.This matchup has become a good rivalry during the last 2 to 3 years with lots of emotion from both sides. In the first half the Generals struck first with a good goal in the 22nd minute. In the first half the Generals seemed to have more energy had because of this they had the majority of possession. The halftime score was 1 to 0 for Sheridan.
In the second half the Mustangs brought more energy and took better care of the ball. Through these efforts they were rewarded with a great goal by Maylee Thompson in the 51st minute to even the score. No other goals would come in regulation. After 90 minutes of play the score would be tied 1 to 1.
For the second time in 2 days the Mustangs would have to play an overtime Region IX North match. Different from the day before in Gillette for WWCC the game winning goal would be close but would not be found. The Mustang defense and keeper would remain true and would not allow another SC goal. So, after 110 minutes the score was still 1 to 1 and would go down as a draw between the two team. This tie makes the Mustang overall record 7 - 5 - 1 and 4 - 1 - 1 in Region IX North play.
