#17 Snow Runs Away With Victory Versus Western

On Tuesday the Western Wyoming Mustangs squared off against the #17 Snow College Badgers in Green River WY at Green River High School.

Western was looking to break into the win column after a tough and grueling August schedule.  WWCC's chances looked bright when they took the lead in the 10th minute.  The Mustang goal was off of a corner kick sent into the box by Abbie Riley and headed into the goal by Jaclyn Edwards.  The Mustang lead only lasted 3 minutes.  Snow College scored in the 13th minute to even up the score.  Snow College would add one more score in the first half in the 25th minute.  The halftime score would be 2 to 1 in favor of the Badgers.

Snow continued to play fast offensive soccer in the second half and scored first in the last half of play in the 48th minute to take a 3 to 2 lead.  Four minutes later in the 52nd minute of play the Mustangs would cut into the lead when Kylee Manning scored after receiving the ball from great passes by Maylee Thompson and Claire Morales.  For the next 10 minutes it seemed the Mustangs and Badgers would have quite a battle.  The next goal was scored by the Badgers in the 64th minute to make the score 4 to 2 on the side of Snow College.  This fourth goal seemed to dampen the WWCC spirits and Snow added four more late goals to make the scoreline look like a blowout.  Snow scored in the 71st, 82nd, 83rd and 88th minutes of play.  The final tally after 90 minutes of play was 8 to 2 in favor of the visiting Nationally ranked Snow College.  The loss brings the Mustang record down to 0 - 3 - 0.

Mustang Valuable Player:  Jaclyn Edwards - Not only did she score the first goal of the match but played hard every minute that she was on the field.
