3rd Scrimmage for Mustangs versus Dixie State
A day after the Mustangs lost their opening match of the 2018 regular season they traveled down to St. George Utah for a scrimmage against Dixie State, a NCAA Division II school.
Throughout the scrimmage the offense of WWCC never seemed to click and could not muster much off a threat to the Trailblazers defense and keeper. DSU scored seven goals in the scrimmage including 4 in the first half and 3 in the second half. WWCC played all field players during the scrimmage. Lindsey Lemmons got the start in the goal for the Mustangs with Madeline Kendrick playing the second 45 minutes. Lemmons had 7 saves, while Kendrick had 5 saves. The Mustangs showed moments that they can play at a high level but they need to be more consistent with their play.
Mustang Valuable Player: Makenzie Millward - Kenzie provided a spark on the field, earned a corner kick and added some much needed physical play from the attack.
