Jaclyn Edwards from Pleasant View Utah and Weber High School has signed her second National Letter of Intent to continue her college soccer career at Western Wyoming Community College.
During her first season at Western Jaclyn was an essential part of the squad and the defensive back line. As far as statistics in 2017, she had 28 Shots, 1 Goal, 1 Assist, 8 Fouls, 24 Starts and 48 Halves played. Edwards was a leader on the defense for WWCC's record of 573 consecutive minutes without allowing a goal during the fall 2017 season. She was also on the field for all 10 of our shutouts. Jaclyn also received a 2nd Team All Region IX honor and was named the Western Wyo Women's Soccer MVP by her peers.
In the classroom Jaclyn does excellent work. Recently she was named to the Region IX All Academic team for the 2017-2018 school year. Edwards was also named to the Dean's Honor Roll for the fall 2017 semester and the spring 2018 semester. She is on track to graduate from Western Wyoming with her Associates Degree in May of 2019.
In the off season Jaclyn continued to work hard both in the weight room and on the field. The spring scrimmage season for Edwards was a pay-off of her hard work. She was able to be a part of 4 scrimmages with only 1 goal allowed by the Mustangs (3 shutouts) and she even scored the winning goal off of a free kick against Eastern Utah.
Western is excited to have Jac back for Mustang soccer. We know that we can count on her to provide leadership and a defensive presence for the team. Here is hoping for even more success your sophomore year after all of your hard work and dedication.
