On Friday in Sterling CO the Mustangs played against the Lady Plainsmen of Northeastern Junior College for the second time of the season.
The result was very similar from the first match up between the two teams. WWCC scored first in the 7th minute when Kenzie Lucas assisted on a Maylee Thompson goal. The Mustang goal was enough for WWCC to have a 1 to 0 lead at the halftime break.
In the second half the Mustangs continued to barrage the NJC goal with shots. Finally more goals came when Maylee Thompson got her second goal of the match with another Kenzie Lucas assist in the 58th minute. The roles reversed in the 79th minute when Kenzie Lucas scored the Mustangs's 3rd goal of the match assisted by Maylee Thompson. The final score was WWCC 3 and NJC 0. This win and shutout brings the Mustangs overall record for 2017 to 8 - 7 - 0 and brings the 2017 win total to the second highest in WWCC program history.
