On Saturday, after a disappointing finish to their first Region IX match the day before, the Mustangs were able to flip the script and score two late goals and win a Region IX match on the road.The first half was a sluggish affair between the two teams with little to no attacks from either side. After 45 minutes of play the score was still tied 0 - 0.
In the second half things heated up in the 54th minute when Sheridan scored off of a bad clear from a Sheridan corner kick. With their back against the wall the Mustangs continued to probe the high back line of the Sheridan College Lady Generals with long passes. Finally one paid off when Jordan Gibson sent Madisyn Cantrell into Sheridan territory with a long pass and she was able to beat the Sheridan keeper. Moments later Alyssia Lee was the passer but again Madisyn Cantrell was the goal scorer. This gave the Mustangs the lead and they would hold on to the lead and win 2 to 1 over Sheridan. With the win the WWCC record is now 2 - 2 - 0 and 1 - 1 - 0 in Region IX play.
