Rachel Mivshek a recent graduate from Pinedale High School in Pinedale Wyoming has committed to play soccer for the Western Wyoming Women's Soccer team in Rock Springs WY.
Rachel was a 4 year starter for the Lady Wranglers of Pinedale High soccer. Mivshek also played with the Pinedale Soccer Club/Travel team while she was a high school student. During her 4 years in high school she rotated through many positions for her team. When we saw Rachel play she was playing a center defensive midfield. She possesses toughness, good physical skills and athleticism. At Western we can see Rachel also being very versatile on the pitch. She could definitely help us out in the center defensive mid role. Along with that position we can also see Rachel receiving playing time as an outside midfielder, an outside defender and even helping us out at center back if we asked her to. During her final two years at PHS she was given and Honorable Mention award for her playing prowess.
As a student athlete Rachel has maintained a high GPA, being on High Honor Rolls throughout her high school playing career. Some other accomplishments for Mivshek in high school were that she won State and District competitions for History Day. Rachel was able to then travel to Washington D.C. to compete in National History Day. Mivshek traveled with another student from Pinedale High School. Rachel also received several Sportsmanship Awards for her gamesmanship.
Rachel and her Pinedale High teammates recently competed at the 2016 3A Wyoming State Soccer Cup in Sheridan WY. This was the first year that the PHS girls team had qualified for state soccer since 2012. We congratulate and welcome Rachel to the Western Wyoming Soccer family. We know that she will do well both in the classroom and as a Mustang Soccer player.
