Vanesa Ramirez to Join the 2016 Mustangs

Photos from Ramirez Family

Vanesa Ramirez a soon to be graduate from Evanston High School and Evanston WY will continue her soccer career at the next level in Rock Springs WY at Western Wyoming Community College.

Vanesa was a three sport athlete during her 4 year high school career for the EHS Lady Devils.  She played volleyball in the fall, basketball in the winter and excelled on the pitch for the EHS Soccer team in the spring.

Ramirez started on the varsity soccer team for Evanston High as a Freshman.  As an underclassman she played as an outside defender for EHS.  As a Junior, Vanesa was moved to an outside midfield/wing position for the Lady Devils.  She received nominations and votes by opposing coaches to be named a 2nd team 4A West All Conference Player during her sophomore and  junior campaigns.

As a Senior Vanesa has again showed her versatility as she is currently filling the role as a center defensive mid for the Lady Devils.  Ramirez has dealt with a leg muscle injury but has been playing well as of late for a gritty much improved EHS team.  Vanesa also serves as one of the captains for Evanston.

At Western we believe that Vanesa will fit right in with both the team and our academic goals.  Vanesa was a part of the EHS Soccer team that was awarded a Distinguished Scholastic Award.  Her skill set and toughness will give her a chance to contribute in the midfield or as a defender either on the outside or a center back.  Western is lucky to have such a wonderful person, student and player.
