Aly Sweet a soon to be sophomore player for Western Wyoming has again signed a National Letter of Intent to play one more season for the Red, Black and White of the WWCC Mustangs.
Sweet's freshman campaign was a very successful one. She amassed 21 Shots, 5 Goals, 1 Assist and 1 Foul. Aly started 10 matches and played 36 Halves during her first year with the Mustangs. She was named the Offensive MVP for the 2015 Mustang team. Sweet was also the 2015 team leader in goals scored and in offensive points.
Aly is a great young lady and students, who takes pride in being a Mustang Athlete on and off of the field. We expect great things again from Aly in the fall of 2016. She possesses the versatility to easily add to the team as a forward or as an outside midfielder, the positions that she primarily played as a freshman. Aly played very well this spring also as an attacking midfielder in our last spring scrimmage. We know that she can contribute in any of the 5 attacking positions on the pitch for the Mustangs. We also know that Aly is willing to do whatever it takes to help out the team. There has been discussions and thoughts about having her see if her talents would translate to an outside defender, using her speed and passing ability to help the Mustangs possess the ball in attacking positions and create scoring chances from long, wide areas on the field. Whatever the 2016 season brings for Aly Sweet, the Mustangs know that we have a great addition back to finish out her WWCC career while preparing to graduate, continue her education and possibly continue her collegiate soccer career.
