Shantay Robinson a Fairview WY resident and a 2015 Star Valley High graduate after an excellent freshman year has again agreed to play soccer for the Western Wyoming Community College Mustangs.
Shantay had a very successful first year with the Mustangs as she was a hard nosed player who did a lot of the tough work to help out the team. Her statistics from her freshman year are; 2 Shots, 8 Starts and 38 Halves Played. Robinson played primarily as an outside during her freshman year. There were a few matches were Shantay filled in as an outside defender for the Mustangs when needed. She worked very hard on the field and always remembered her defensive responsibilities.The spring 2016 season was good for Shantay as she continued to work on her touch and ability to be a more rounded soccer player. She had chances to play and gain experience as an outside midfielder and also as an outside defender.
During the fall 2016 season we expect a lot from Shantay on and off of the field. She will be a leader of the team with her very positive and cheerful personality. We know that she can play very well as an outside midfielder for the Mustangs but we are very intrigued for her to show what she can do as an outside defender. We feel that she has all the skills to be a great outside back, Shantay has good speed, nice passing and crossing ability and a relentless work ethic. No matter what position Shantay plays for us as a Sophomore but she will do her best to improve the team and help us find success. Thanks for the work and welcome back Shantay Robinson.
