On Thursday March 3rd, McKenzie Lucas from Green River High School in Green River Wyoming signed her National Letter of Intent to play Women's soccer for Western Wyoming Community College.

Kenzie is the first of soon to be many recruits to sign on for Western Wyoming Women's Soccer.  Lucas in entering her senior year at GRHS.  She has played, starred and started for the Lady Wolves for three years helping the team to be a force to be reckoned with in the 4A West of Wyoming Soccer.  We expect her senior year to much of the same both as an all-star player and a leader for her team on and off of the field.

As a sophomore Kenzie was named 1st Team All Region 4A West and 2nd Team All State for the 4A division.  As a junior Kenzie was again name 1st Team All Region 4A West and 1st Team All State for the 4A division.

In her first three years with the Lady Wolves Kenzie has helped the GRHS girls soccer team to a second place finish in 4A West regular season and two first place 4A West regular season finishes.  Kenzie and the Lady Wolves have been runners-up in the  4A West Regional tournament twice and the 2013 4A West Regional tournament champions.  GRHS has participated in the 4A Wyoming State Soccer Cup all three years with Lucas, their best finish was in 2015 winning the Consolation Championship.

Kenzie's stats are very impressive and she will only add to them during her senior year.  In 2013, her freshman year she scored 5 goals and had 2 assists.  During her sophomore campaign she tallied 16 goals and passed for 8 assists.  Last season, 2015, Kenzie amassed 18 goals and added 9 assists.  Her high school totals through 3 years is 39 goals and 19 assists.

At Western we know that Kenzie will add to a Mustang attack that desperately needs a goal scorer.  She will be able to use her speed, field awareness, great placement and left foot to score a lot of goals for WWCC in her two years.  Because of her touch and toughness we at Western also believe that Kenzie could help us out as a midfielder if needed.  She is a very welcome addition and we are proud to keep one of the top players in the state of Wyoming and in Sweetwater County.  Congrats Kenzie and we look forward to seeing you shine your senior season and the next two years wearing the Red, White and Black of the Western Wyoming Women's Soccer team.
