Otero Wins Against Mustangs in Rock Springs

On Friday in Rock Springs the Mustangs played against the reigning Region IX champions Otero Junior College.

Otero took little time to use the wind and scored seconds after kick off and took a 1 - 0 lead.  Western played better the rest of the half but could not muster much offense against the Lady Rattlers.  The halftime score was 1 - 0 for OJC.

In the second half Western played better but still could not find anything near the Otero net.  Two goals were added by Otero.  The second goal of the match came in the 61st off of a penalty kick and the final OJC goal came in the 71st minute from a ball that the Mustangs thought they had cleared off of a corner kick.  The loss brings the Mustang record to 3 - 4 - 1.

Mustang Valuable Player: Odalis Hernandez for a good game along with solid and consistent great play for the team.
