The Mustangs had their offense clicking and controlled most of the match through their possession and attack.
In the first half the Mustangs used the wind and their new found confidence to be the better team in the first 45 minutes. However there were no goals to be had for either team in the first half.
Quickly after the start of the second half Maddie Case passed a ball to Katelin Nielson, who buried the ball into the net for the lone goal of the match. The Mustangs had a good build up for the goal including several passes.
Many players played very well for the Mustangs including Rachel Richards as a constant threat, Tobin Niebrugge controlling the midfield, the entire back line and keeper Rylee Blacker for their second straight shutout and 200 consecutive minutes without allowing a goal.
Even though NWKTC played very hard and did their best to get back into the match the WWCC hustle and organization were too much for them to break down and find an equalizer. The win lifts the WWCC record to 1 - 0 - 1.
