The Mustangs were coming off of a tie and a win in their previous two days and matches. The Mustangs were given a lot of energy from the many students and faculty who came to the match as part of kick-off weekend and the white-out.
The Mustang defense continued their shutout minutes to 233 minutes on the season before the Tritons scored their first goal on a miscommunication between the Mustang defense and the keeper Rylee Blacker. The goal deflated the Mustangs a little and ICCC scored twice more before the end of the half and had a 3 - 0 lead at the half.
The second half still had the Mustangs playing very hard but had a difficult time keeping up with the quick passing and good movement of the highly touted Iowa Central team. The Lady Tritons put 3 more goals on the scoreboard in the second half and took a final 6 - 0 lead. The loss brings the record down to a 1 - 1 - 1 record.
Even though the score ended up lopsided the Mustangs did show moments of great play and where creating pressure and chances on the opponents defense. A much improved team and effort from the beginning of the season.
