Green River Grad Carolina Maestas now a Mustang

Carolina Maestas a recent 2015 graduate from Green River High School in Green River WY will play for the Western Wyoming Community College Mustang Soccer team.

Carolina is a letter winner and a member of a very successful Green River High Lady Wolves soccer team.  Maestas plays for GRHS as a central defender.  However she has also played further up the pitch as a midfielder and a striker.  At Western, we believe that she has the motor and the skills to play just about anywhere on the pitch.  Anywhere along the back line would make sense for Carolina as a Mustang but she might help out WWCC more as an attacking player.  We do know that Maestas will be a very welcome and helpful addition to the Western Wyoming family.

In her high school career Maestas and the Lady Wolves won the 4A West Regional Tournament in 2013.  GRHS has won the 4A West Regional season in each of the last two years.  The Lady Wolves were the 2014 Pinnacle Cup Champions and are 4 time reigning Sweetwater Cup Champions.  This season the Lady Wolves finished in 2nd place at the 2015 4A West Regional Tournament and play in the 4A Wyoming State Cup this coming weekend in Rock Springs WY.

Carolina will study Pre-Med at Western Wyoming Community College.  She is also an accomplished student.  Maestas was a member of the GRHS Honor Roll, graduated Magna Cum Laude, she is also a member of the National Honor Society.  Carolina was also a letter winner in Art and won three ribbons at the Wyoming State Art Competition.

Congrats to Carolina for continuing her playing career and graduating from high school with high honors.  Good luck to Carolina and the GRHS Lady Wolves Soccer team at the Wyoming State Cup.
