WWCC Back to Winning Ways in Gillette

On Saturday in Gillette WY the WWCC Mustangs played their first ever match in Gillette when they faced off against the Gillette College Lady Pronghorns.

The Mustangs continued their good play from the day before.  This time their good play brought on goals for the Red, White and Black.  WWCC scored first on the games when Kenzie Lucas hit a long left footed shot over the GC keeper.  Lucas was assisted by Jessica Arevalo.  Gillette played well and kept the pressure on the WWCC backline but the Mustangs and starting keeper Lindsey Lemmons were up to the task and the halftime score was 1 to 0 in favor of the road team - Mustangs.

The halftime adjustments by WWCC were how to break the Pronghorn pressure and the Mustangs executed it almost to perfection.  WWCC added two goals in the second half.  Madisyn Cantrell scored both goals, they were scored in the 53rd and 85th minutes.  Emma Barnes and Tessa Herbert assisted on the goals.  With the win Western improves to 2 - 3 - 0 on the season and 1 - 1 - 0 in Region IX North play.

Mustang Valuable Player:  Madisyn Cantrell for her two goals (brace) on the day.
