Early Goals Doom WWCC on Road at Sheridan

On Friday in Sheridan Wyoming the Mustangs opened their Region IX North season against the Lady Generals.  This matchup has grown into a great rivalry, with WWCC winning twice in Sheridan in 2016 including a thrilling overtime playoff winner.
The first half was definitely in favor of the Lady Generals, who controlled the possession and were the aggressors.  The fast start paid off for Sheridan who scored in the 12th and 30th minute.  After 45 minutes the Mustangs found themselves down by a pair of goals.
The last 45 minutes of play were a reversal of fortune as the Mustangs proved to be the better team during the last half.  However, the better play by the WWCC team did not equate in goals.  Several close chances by the Mustangs but nothing found the back of the net.  Sheridan added a third goal in the 84th minute when a long shot from the Lady Generals went over the WWCC keeper Madeline Kendrick.  The final score was 3 - 0 for Sheridan.  This loss makes the 2017 WWCC record 1 - 3- 0 and 0 - 1 - 0 in Region IX North play.

Mustang Valuable Player:  MaKayla Barnes - who helped lead the team to play so much better throughout the match
