Disappointing Result versus Tough SLCC Team

On Tuesday the Mustangs traveled to Salt Lake City and squared off against the SLCC Lady Bruins.  The two teams had played a scrimmage less than two weeks earlier.

The Mustangs believed that they had made the necessary changes to make the rematch much more competitive.  However some unlucky mistakes and top notch shooting from the Lady Bruins put an end to any WWCC upset fairly early.  The SLCC team scored 4 times in the first half.

With a 4 to 0 lead at the break the Bruins did not have to do much to ice the match.  WWCC showed signs of improvement and fight in the second half including a few chances created by Madisyn Cantrell.  However the Bruins added tow more insurance goals in the final 45 minutes to ease to a comfortable 6 to 0 win.  The loss brings the Mustang record down to 1 - 1 - 0 on the season.

Mustang Valuable Player:  Jaden Auger who continued to play hard and smart regardless of the score.
