On Thursday at the RSJH Field in Rock Springs the Mustangs hosted a talented SLCC team for the 1st official scrimmage of the 2017 season.
The SLCC Lady Bruins started fast and put the Mustangs on the back foot from the first whistle. SLCC scored three first half goals that sunk any emerging spirit from the 2017 edition of the Mustangs. After 45 minutes of play the score was 3 to 0 in favor of the guests - SLCC.
In the second half the Mustangs calmed down and played better soccer even though there were limited opportunities to score for the WWCC squad. The Lasy Bruins added one final goal in the form of a penalty kick in the 85th minute to make the final score 4 to 0 for the SLCC women's soccer team.
Mustang Valuable Player: Lindsey Lemmons - she played as keeper in the second half and calmed down the back line during the final 45 minutes.
