Tessa Herbert in the Mustang Herd for 2017

Tessa Herbert who graduated from Delta High in Delta UT in 2015 has committed to play for the Western Wyoming Community College Mustangs in 2017.
Tessa played on the Delta High Varsity soccer team all 4 years of high school.  She was a starter during her junior and senior years.  With the Rabbits she was mainly used as a left midfield player but she also feels comfortable as a forward and a center midfielder.  Tessa was a 2A Honorable Mention All State Midfielder in 2013.  Delta High and Tessa advanced to the 2A Semifinals of the UHSAA Soccer Tournament in back to back seasons in 2013 and 2014.

Herbert is a very solid student having a 3.9 GPA in high school and continuing with a 3.8 GPA in her first year of college at Utah State University.  Tessa was a member of the National Honors Society and the Governing Youth Council.  She was the Vice President of Bone Voce, the DHS choir her senior year and she also held position of an English Sterling Scholar the same year, receiving an award for runner-up in a regional competition.  Tessa also received The President's Volunteer Service Award along with coaching youth soccer teams in her community.
At Western we expect Tessa to continue to contribute as an outstanding student and community member but we also think that she will add a lot of skill and depth to our midfield and in particular to our left side.  As a Mustang she likely will see the most time as a left midfielder and as an outside forward.  Tessa provides Western with a player with a motor who does not quit and a player from the midfield looks for assists and possession.  Congrats and welcome aboard Tessa!
