Madeline Kendrick - 2017 Mustang Keeper

Madeline Kendrick from Hooper Utah, a soon to be graduate from Fremont High School in Plain City UT, has signed her National Letter of Intent to play collegiate soccer for the Mustangs of Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs WY.

Maddy played club soccer for Union FC Soccer Club where she was part of several undefeated seasons.  Kendrick and the Union FC team also had many great performances in multiple tournament throughout her years of play.

Kendrick, a keeper, came to the Rock Springs WY campus of WWCC for an individual tryout and showed great command of her box and a lot of potential for the years to come.  She fills one of the greatest needs for Western Wyoming in the 2017 season as Rylee Blacker, the all time leader in all goalkeeping stats, will graduate in May of 2017.

Shefton Gordon the Union FC Soccer coach says of Madeline, "One of Maddy's strengths is coming off the line in 1 v 1 situations.  She is fearless and shows the ability to get there in the nick of time.  Maddy is not only a fine player, but is also an outstanding individual.  She realizes that success can only be obtained through hard work and approaching each task with a positive attitude."

As a student Maddy has achieved many academic honors.  She also has a lot of talents off of the pitch.  She sing and play violin and has been honing her musical skills for 10 years through lessons and private instructions.  Kendrick is in the Performing and Touring choir along with being 1st violin in the Orchestra all at Fremont High School.

Beside soccer Maddy has been skiing and snowboarding since she was 3 years old.  She is also a certified lifeguard and loves to eat pizza and french fries

At Western we know Maddy will continue to be an excellent student and member of her school community.  We know that she will strive to push herself and her teammates at all training sessions, fitness tests and in the weight room.  We are excited for her to compete for playing time and a starting position from the start of her freshman year.  Good luck to Madeline Kendrick in all of her endeavors on and off of the field while she is a Western Wyo Mustang.
