Kenzie Lucas Mustang for 2017

Kenzie Lucas from Green River High School in Green River Wyoming has once again signed a National Letter of Intent to play her sophomore season for Western Wyoming Community College Mustangs.

During her freshman year Lucas had 33 Shots, 1 Goal, 4 Assists, 9 Fouls, 20 Starts and 42 Halves Played.  She played in 21 of the 24 matches for the Mustangs in the fall of 2016.  A few minor injuries kept her out of a few matches at the end of the regular season.  Kenzie played the majority of her first year as an outside midfielder.  She also was used occasionally as a forward.

Kenzie has a good left foot and is capable of sending the ball on frame from 30 plus yards from the goal.  She does a good job of finding the open players and can send quick and accurate through balls.

In the 2017 spring scrimmage season Kenzie recorded 1 assist as she continued her strong play.  Lucas battled a muscle injury this spring but made a full recovery and played good minutes in the final scrimmage.  Western will rely on Kenzie's experience and toughness as she will be one of the only returning midfielders who will be playing for the Mustangs in 2017.

Kenzie is an Education major and a community leader for the Mustangs.  We expect that she will continue to get high marks in the classroom during her sophomore year.  We look for Lucas to continue to be an impact player for the Mustangs in every match she wears the WWCC Red, Black and White.
