Historically WWCC has always had close matches in Powell. Today would be no different. Although the majority of the ball and shots went for the ladies in black from Rock Springs the halftime score was just 1 to 0 in favor of WWCC. Jordan Gibson scored on a Maylee Thompon goal in the 42nd minute of play.
Again in the second half the game was much tighter than it needed to be. NWC scored an equalizing goal in the 77th minute of play. Western did not panic and kicked their offense into high gear. Maylee Thompson scored the game winner in the 86th minute off of a Kaitlyn Pryor assist. The final score would be 2 for WWCC and 1 for NWC. With the road win the Mustang regular season record for 2018 is 10 - 6 - 1. The Mustangs finished the Region IX North regular season at 5 - 2 - 1 - second place.
