Maylee Thompson from Afton Wyoming and a 2017 Star Valley High School graduate has signed her second National Letter of Intent to play her sophomore year at Western Wyoming Community College.
Maylee had an exceptional freshman year. Maylee was awarded for her hard work with being recognized on the 2nd team All-Region IX soccer team. Maylee's freshman campaign was filled with many highlights including these stats; 55 Shots, 8 Goals, 5 Assists, 7 Fouls, 22 Starts and 48 Halves Played.
Thompson also is a dedicated student. She earned her spot on the Dean's Honor Roll both in the fall and the spring semesters. And should easily graduate with her Associates Degree from Western in May of 2019.
In the spring scrimmage season Maylee really came out as a leader in action and word for the Mustangs. In the four spring scrimmages Maylee scored six goals and tallied an assist. The Mustangs only scored 9 goals in the spring and Thompson was a part of seven of those scores. Maylee still has one spring scrimmage season to go but is already the Mustang's all-time leading spring scorer and offensive points leader.
Maylee's sophomore year should be just brilliant. We are expecting her to continue to climb on the WWCC Career List as she is already in the top 10 after one season for goals, assists and shots. Welcome back Maylee.
