Western Wyoming Wins vs WNCC

The Mustangs started the match against WNCC on Friday at Crossroads Park very fast.

Finding possession and room in the Cougar's box.  The fast start paid off as Maddie Case scored her first goal of the year in the 4th minute off of a Maya Perrin assist.  The Case goal would be the only scoring in the first half.  The halftime score was 1 to 0 for the Mustangs.

In the second half the Mustangs continued to dominate play and found their second goal in the 63rd minute from an Alyssia Lee free-kick that completely beat the WNCC.  To the Cougar's credit they did not give up and they continued to fight and cut the lead in half with a goal in the 85th minute.  The Mustangs would hang on for the 2 to 1 win over the Cougars.  The win lifts the 2016 overall record to 3 - 5 - 1 and the Region IX record to 2 - 2 - 1.

Mustang Valuable Player:  Maddie Case for her early goal at setting the attacking tone for the rest of the match.
