Western Shuts Out NJC to Equal Win Total from 2015

On Tuesday in Sterling CO the soon to be full member of Region IX Northeastern JC hosted the Mustangs of Western Wyoming.

The Lady Plainsmen played very defensively looking for counter attacks and stifled the Mustang attack for periods of the match.  The breakthrough for a goal came in the 35th minute when Aly Sweet passed the ball to Madisyn Cantrell who finished the chance for a 1 to 0 lead at half.

In the second half the Mustangs held the Lady Plainsmen far from the WWCC goal and played tough to earn a road victory and a shutout win 1 to 0.

This win equals the total of wins for the WWCC Mustangs throughout the entire 2015 season.  With four more regular season matches hopefully the Mustangs will add to their win total in 2016, currently the overall record is 5 - 8 - 1.

Mustang Valuable Players: Madisyn Cantrell for the game winning goal and Rylee Blacker for the shutout.
