Clarissa Barton - 2016 Recruiting Class for WWCC

Clarissa Barton a recent 2016 graduate from Evanston High School in Evanston WY has signed her National Letter of Intent to play collegiate soccer at Western Wyoming Community College.

Clarissa is a great athlete.  She was an All-State Cross Country runner while at EHS.  Barton was a two time recipient of a 4A West All Conference Soccer player award. She was a captain for the Lady Red Devils Cross Country, Basketball and Soccer teams.  Clarissa has lettered in 3 varsity sports every year since her sophomore campaign while at Evanston High.

In her four year career playing for EHS Clarissa tallied 17 goals.  Including 7 goals this past 2016 season.  Barton was an integral part of the Red Devils who earned their programs first berth in program's history at the Wyoming State Soccer Cup.  In High School Clarissa played as a striker, and outside midfielder and as a an attacking midfielder.

Western believes that Clarissa will make the transition very quickly to the college game with her coach-ability, intelligence and physical skills - mainly her speed.  We can she Barton playing and starring in many roles for the Mustangs.  She has the speed, crossing ability and endurance to do very well as an outside midfielder in the Mustang diamond.  Her speed and nose for the goal also lends us to believe that she could be a very potent forward.  Clarissa also learned the center attacking mid position very well during her senior season.

Clarissa will fit into the Mustang soccer tradition very well being a very strong student and a true essence of what a student athlete is and should be.  Barton was in National Honor Society for two years and was recent named "Best Overall Female Student" of her senior class.  She received the Marine Corps Scholastic Award.  Clarissa has maintained a 4.0 average during her high school career.

Clarissa is one of 6 children in the Barton household.  She enjoys playing music and reading.  Clarissa plays the piano and the flute.  Barton also enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her family. Clarissa wanted to mention how cool superheroes; especially Spiderman and Batman.
