Sadie has played soccer since she was 4 years old. She has played varsity since she was a freshman for the Lady Braves. Sadie has played a number of positions including a midfielder, a stopper, and a sweeper. As a sophomore, Hokum was voted by the coaches from around the state of Wyoming to be a part of the 3A All-State First Team. Along with the All-State certificate in 2014 Sadie was also awarded an All-Conference and sportsmanship awards.
Sadie has been a part of some outstanding SVHS teams in her high school career. Her freshman year, 2013 Sadie and Star Valley placed 2nd at the 3A Wyoming State Cup. In 2014, her sophomore campaign, the Lady Braves and Sadie placed 3rd at the Wyo State Soccer Cup. Last year, 2015 the Star Valley girl's soccer team again placed runners-up at the Wyoming State Soccer Cup.
Even though the majority of her career she has been tasked with playing a defensive position, Sadie has been able to accrue some offensive stats. In her high school career up until now she has scored 5 goals for the Lady Braves while adding 4 assists.
The current season, 2016, Sadie and SVHS are in 2nd place in the 3A Southwest Quadrant and ranked 4th in the state for 3A girl's soccer. This week is state play-in matches to determine who goes to the 2016 Wyoming State Cup and where they are seeded. Sadie has played as a stopper or center defensive mid to help fortify the team's defense her senior year . Hokum is one of 3 captains for the Star Valley soccer team this spring.
While in high school Sadie also played basketball and volleyball but ended the other sport's careers early to concentrate on soccer for her senior season,
Western Wyoming Soccer is so happy to add such a great student, person and soccer player to the program. Sadie has the skills, tenacity and toughness to make an immediate impact on the Mustang team as soon as she arrives on campus. We can see Sadie playing a lot as either a center defensive player, outside defender or as a center defensive mid for WWCC the next 2 years. Where ever she plays on the pitch, Western Wyoming is lucky to have Sadie Hokum.
