Rachel played in 15 of the 16 matches last season for the Mustangs. She also started 15 of the matches. She was the 5th leading goal scorer for the 2014 Mustangs with 1 goal and the 4th leading point scorer for the WWCC team with 5 points, 1 goal and 3 assists. With 11 shots on the year she was also number 5 on the 2014 squad for this statistical category.
Richards was primarily used as an outside back for the 2014 team. Through the course of the season and the 2015 spring she has transitioned into a striker. We foresee Rachel giving the Mustangs a speed presence on the forward line. She will use her speed to get behind defenses and create opportunities for herself and her teammates. She possesses a good left foot and a powerful long shot. Rachel should work well with the other forwards with the Mustangs and will link up well with the WWCC midfield. Rachel is working very hard both on and off of the pitch this summer to make sure that her sophomore year at Western is the best that it can be. Congratulations Rachel and good luck on a successful sophomore campaign.
