As a high school player Marlee was a bright spot for the Lady Devils throughout her playing career. Child was able and willing to play basically any position on the field for her team and teammates. As a senior Marlee scored 2 goals for EHS.
Her first year at Western looked very promising starting the first two matches of the fall 2014 season. She even recorded a shot in the first match a road draw against Barton CC. Sadly, her year was then cut short by an ankle injury.
If Marlee choices she could still have two years of eligibility at Western to play soccer due to her injury so earlier her first season.
Marlee is a Special Education major at Western. Her parents are Boyd and Bobbi Child. Her siblings are Tyler, Ben and Nickolas. Tyler was a Western soccer player in 2005 and 2006 for the Spartans and the Mustangs. Tyler also was an assistant coach for the Men's team during the 2007 season.
Child is versatile in her abilities and skills on the field. We believe that she is capable of playing every position on the pitch for the WWCC Women's team if called upon. We also believe that perhaps her best position would be an outside midfielder for the 2015 Mustangs. Congrats to Marlee for again being apart of the Western Wyo Women's Soccer Team. We look forward to many great things from her both on and off of the field.
