The Mustangs wasted little time as the scored in the 18th minute of play when Lexi Chenoweth found the back of the net with an assist from Hayden Rupe. Just one minute later Kylee Manning doubled the Western Wyo lead when she scored from a Graisy Greener assist. Just when it seemed to be all roses for the Mustangs, the second own goal on the season happened against the Mustangs. At the end of the first half of play the score was WWCC 2 and TMCC 1.
