Game time temperatures were blistering and not the conditions that the Mustangs were used to. In the 9th minute of the match, CSN was awarded a penalty kick and converted to take an early lead. The Mustangs struggled to find the ball in possession and then did not value the ball leading to many silly turnovers. In the 45th minute of play the Lady Coyotes got another goal with just seconds left on the clock. The goals from CSN gave them a 2 to 0 lead at the break.
As the sunset and the temperatures dropped a little, the Mustangs played very hard but still could not muster enough offense to seriously frighten the tough CSN backline. The final score at the end of the match was CSN 2 - WWCC 0. The loss brings the WWCC 2019 record down to 3 - 2 - 0 with both losses coming to top 25 ranked programs.
Mustang Valuable Player: Markell Freeman - She had 14 saves on the day, keeping the Mustangs from being blown out of the match.
