Western Starts 2019 Season off With a Big Victory over CNCC

 On Saturday in Craig CO the Western Wyo Mustangs started their official 2019 Fall Season when they faced off against the Lady Spartans of Colorado Northwest Community College.  This was the first time these two schools have played each other in Women's soccer.

Kylee Manning started her big day off in the 4th minute of play when she collected a pass from Cassie Southwick and scored the first goal of the contest.  In the 22nd minute, Hayden Rupe calmly scored a PK for the Mustangs to double the lead for Western Wyo.  The scoring was not over for the Mustangs as Kylee Manning scored her second goal of the day from a Karly Conolly assist in the 25th minute of play.  One more Western Wyo goal would be scored in the first half of play when Cassie Southwick scored from a Lexi Chenoweth assist in the 29th minute of play.  The score at the half was Western Wyo 4 and CNCC 0.

The second half was a near repeat of the first half with a lot of WWCC shots on goal and few chances for the Lady Spartans.  Lizzy Clark started the second half scoring with a Kylee Manning in the 70th minute.  Another assist from Kylee Manning came when Karly Conolly scored in the 78th minute.  The final Mustang goal came in the 81st minute when Sydney Simmons scored from a Karly Conolly assist.  The final score was Western Wyo 7 and CNCC 0.  Three keepers were used by the Mustangs to get the shutout victory - Graisy Greener, Karly Conolly and Cassie Southwick.  The victory makes the Western Wyo 2019 record 1 - 0 - 0.  Three Mustangs did not see action today due to injury and illness; Markell Freeman, Jenna Proctor and Alison Boman.
