Western Wyo Looks Better in Second Scrimmage

On Saturday the Western Wyoming Mustangs had their second scrimmage of the 2018 season when they squared off against the Lady Cougars of Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff NE.

The Mustangs offense looked a lot better than in their first scrimmage earlier in the week.  The Mustangs got on the board in the first 15 minutes when Emma Barnes corralled a loose ball blasted it past the WNCC keeper.  Taya Merrell added a second goal before halftime off of a Kaitlyn Pryor assist.  Mustangs had a 2 to 0 lead at the intermission.

In the second half the Cougars scored first to cut the WWCC lead in half.  But with about 8 minutes remaining the Mustangs added a third and final goal to insure a lead for WWCC.  Jordan Gibson scored the third goal with an assist from Maylee Thompson.  Each of the three WWCC keepers played a thirty minute stretch.

Mustang Valuable Player:  Emma Barnes - for the 1st goal of the match and solid offensive play.
