Elyse Jacobsen from Summit Academy in Bluffdale Utah has signed her National Letter of Intent to play and compete in Women's Soccer for the Mustangs of Western Wyoming Community College.
During high school Elyse played for the Lady Bears as a center back and even as a center midfielder. While at Summit Academy, Jacobsen was a leader on the field and helped the team reach the UHSAA 3A State Playoffs.
Beside playing for Summit Academy, Elyse played club soccer, most recently playing for Ajax FC during her senior year. Elyse and Ajax FC played in the the D1 division.
For four years, during 7th through 10th grade, Elyse played her comp/club soccer for Arsenal. Arsenal was in the Premier 2 division while Jacobsen played for them.
We at Western are happy to add Jacobsen to the WWCC soccer roster because of her versatility as a player and for her soccer intelligence. We know that Elyse will feel comfortable as a center back and as a center midfielder but she has the skills to also help out as an outside back or even a wide forward. We are very impressed with Jacobsen's knowledge of the game including tactics. Both her versatility and soccer iq will help her find time on the field and will improve us as a team.
Elyse says, "I am happy to play at Western with all the girls on the team and with one of my teammates from my club team." Elyse already has a tie-in with Western as her brother played for WWCC Men's Soccer in 2013 and 2014. Welcome Elyse! We are excited to add such a wonderful person, student and soccer player to the team.
