Melia Dayley a rising sophomore at Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs WY has signed her National Letter of Intent to play Women's soccer for the Mustangs on May 1st.

Melia is a Sugar Salem High graduate in Sugar City Idaho, class of 2014.  In fact Melia was the valedictorian of her class.  She also played soccer for the Lady Diggers, and was voted as a captain of the team and was a three time all conference player.

Dayley continued her academic prowess at Western Wyoming as she was awarded All Conference and All Region Academic Awards.  She was also on the Dean's Honor Roll after the fall 2014 semester at WWCC.

Melia is a History and Journalism major at Western.  She is doing very well to represent herself, her teammates and the program with her personality and her strong academic leadership.

As a freshman Melia started 16 matches last season.  Three of those starts were as the emergency keeper, after the top two Mustang keepers were injuried.  As a keeper she had 17 saves and stopped 63% of all the shots she faced.  Most of her freshman season Melia played as a center midfielder.  As a field player Melia took 8 shots and scored 2 goals.

We expect Melia to continue to be a team player her sophomore year but hopefully she can focus on her playing in the field instead of being an emergency keeper.  We believe she will be an integral part of the Mustang attack in the 2015 season and has the soccer skills to lead Western in many offensive categories.
