2015-2016 Coaching Staff Announced

Jeff Atkinson was named the 3rd head coach in the history of Western Wyoming Women's Soccer on Thursday May 7th.  Jeff Atkinson played club soccer while at Evanston High School and the University of Wyoming. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Wyoming in Spanish Education. Jeff is a Spanish teacher at Rock Springs High School. Jeff was named the 2012 Region IX NJCAA Coach of the Year and holds several NSCAA and USSF certificates including goal keeper certificates.

Atkinson also coached the Rock Springs High School boy's soccer team for 9 seasons. While with the Tigers he helped lead them to 5 state tournaments. The Atkinson lead RSHS teams earned a 3rd, 4th and 6th place finish at the Wyoming State Cup during his tenure. He and his wife, Jennifer, have three sons—Timothy, Landon and Seth and a daughter - Sydney.

Coach Atkinson has coached ten season as the head coach of Western's men's soccer team. He has compiled 85 wins while at Western.  Atkinson coach the then Spartans in their last club season in 2005 and the first season for the Mustangs and the first NJCAA season in 2006.  In 2011 Coach Atkinson picked up his 100th career coaching victory. The 2012 season was one for the record books as the Mustangs won their first Region IX Championship, hosted and finished second in the NJCAA West District Tournament and competed at the NJCAA National Tournament in Albany GA. The Mustangs won one match and lost one match at the 2012 National Tournament for an 8th place finish in the Nation.


Brady Baldwin will start his third year as an assistant coach with the Mustangs. Brady has played soccer in high school and recreationally for over thirty years. He was on the very first RSHS Boys' Soccer team in 1987. All together Brady has twenty-six years of coaching experience at the youth, club, and high school levels. He graduated from Rock Springs High School in 1987 and from WWCC in 1991 with his Associate's Degree. Brady lives in Rock Springs with his wife Amanda and their three children, Gretchen, Zoe and Nathan.


Lu Sweet is beginning her eight year at Western Wyoming Community College in 2015.   Dr. Lu Sweet will help out the team both on and off of the pitch.  Sweet will help out with the academics for the women's team and will assist in the coaching duties.  Lu's collegiate athletic background includes coaching women's basketball at the University of Kansas and men's basketball at MSU-Northern. She played basketball and volleyball at MSU-Northern for the Skylights. Lu has her master's degree in Athletic Administration and her doctorate in Educational Administration. She lives in Rock Springs with her family.
