On Saturday in Rock Springs the Mustangs faced off against the Lady Trojans of Trinidad State Junior College.  This was the last home regular season match for Mustangs and an important match for seeding in the Region IX playoffs.

Western Wyo Women got off to an amazing start when Karly Conolly scored in the 4th mintue of play being assisted by Kylee Manning.  No other goals would be scored in the first half, the score at the break was WWCC 1 and TSJC 0.

Trinidad continued to pressure the Mustangs and found a tying goal in the 70th minute of play.  The goal was scored on a replacement keeper for the Mustangs as starting keeper Markell Freeman was on the sidelines nursing an injury.  Despite desperate attempts from both teams the score was tied at one goal a piece at the end of 90 minutes of play.

In the overtime the Trojans struck with a goal in the 93rd minute after a cross into the box that ended in several collisions and the ball in the back of the net.  The final score was TSJC 2 and WWCC 1.  This was the 3rd straight overtime match for the Mustangs and their 4th in 6 matches.  The loss slides the overall record for 2019 to 8 - 6 - 1 and the Region IX record to 4 - 4 - 1.  This loss almost ensures that the Mustangs will play a road playoff match in the first round of the Region IX playoffs.

Playing for the last time in the Red and Black in Rock Springs were sophomores; Kylee Manning, Abby Riley, McKay Smith, Lizzy Clark, Taya Merrell and Markell Freeman.

Mustang Valuable Player: Karly Conolly for the goal on the day and helping play keeper when needed by the team.
