Syracuse Sends WWCC Abbie Riley

Abbie Riley from Syracuse Utah and a soon to be graduate from Syracuse High has signed her National Letter of Intent to play college soccer at Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs WY.

Abbie came to campus of WWCC for a tryout in the winter and impressed the coaching staff with her play, awareness on the field and toughness.  Abbie is a defender by nature and is best suited to play as an outside back.  Outside back is one of the top needs for Western Wyoming to fill as the Mustangs will graduate both Jessica Arevalo and Kelsey Moffitt.

While at Syracuse High Abbie lettered during her Junior and her Senior year.   Riley also logged 1400 varsity minutes during her senior campaign. During her senior year in the fall of 2017 Abbie and her Syracuse teammates had a record of 17 - 3 - 0 and were Utah 6A Region 1 Champions.  Along with the regular season success the SHS Titans also advanced all the way to the 6A UHSAA Soccer Championships played at Rio Tinto Stadium.  In the finals Syracuse was defeated for a second place finish.

We at Western are so excited to add such a quality young lady, student and soccer player.  We really feel that Abbie will fit into the WWCC Women's soccer program both as a person and a player.  Congrats to Abbie and good luck during your playing career for the Mustangs of Western Wyoming.
